Holthaus Charters LLC is operated and ran by Ryan Holthaus who is a fully licensed and insured Lake Erie fishing guide. Specializing in Lake Erie Walleye & Yellow Perch trips for 1-3 people on Lake Erie waters from Port Clinton Ohio to Cleveland Ohio. We follow the fish as they migrate from the west in the spring time to the east in the hot summer months and back west as the water cools in the fall. We provide all fishing gear and bait needed for every trip and offer trips to all people from the pro levels to first time anglers and kids of all ages.

MEET THE CAPTAIN

Captain Ryan Holthaus is the owner and operator of Holthaus Charters. He has spent nearly 15 years fishing Lake Erie, practically growing up on the water with his family.

After purchasing his own boat in 2021, Ryan began taking family and friends out on Lake Erie, refining his skills and gaining firsthand knowledge of the lake’s ever-changing conditions and walleye patterns. Ryan earned his USCG Captain’s License in the spring of 2025, further solidifying his commitment to safety, professionalism, and providing a top-quality fishing experience.

Ryan prides himself on running a relaxed, enjoyable charter while working hard to put fish in the boat and create memorable trips for anglers of all experience levels.
